Today I was reading the wonderful Heather B. Armstrong's blog, Dooce, and entertained the thought of becoming a professional blogger. Although this would mean that I would actually have to put much more effort into writing, write about stuff that people other than myself and my one reader (thanks Char!) care about, and well I can't think of a third thing. This also means that I will have to recruit more than one follower...does this mean that I will have to post my blog on Facebook? Because, honestly, I don't think I could do that...I mean, I'm not writing about anything important. Maybe if I was reviewing something or something...bah. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

ETA: I am totally going to buy this book: No One cares What you Had For Lunch: 100 Ideas For your Blog, by Margaret Mason...maybe it will help.

Curly Hair

So this morning I listened to Adam Carolla go on a 15 minute rant about how much curly hair sucks. WTF? I honestly felt betrayed, I guess this is what happens when you love someone and then they talk shit about you to your face. What I don't understand is what is it that most (and I said MOST) white boys have against curly hair? Believe me, my hair could be a lot worse...I'm black for cripes sakes! I'm lucky I don't have naps!

Alright, I'm done venting.

If you were wondering, my nephew is ok! They removed the tumor and there should be no lasting effects.

Ugh mixed with optimism

My 5 month old nephew is having surgery today. Brain surgery. A SIX hour long brain surgery. Something that no 5 month old should have to endure. Please keep him in your prayers.

I know we're ahead of the game but...

So, we...well Stinks has picked our second son's name. I know you're thinking, 'but D, you don't even have a baby let alone know that you are going to have 2 boys!' And all I can say is that we like to be prepared. For those of you that don't know, firstborn son is Broady Brewer- my mom's maiden name and Stinks' middle and firstborn daughter is Kaya Elizabeth- after a Bob Marley song and my grandmother's middle name. So second son will be...Xavier. No middle name as of yet, but Thomas, Irvine and Bravery are in the running. I especially love Bravery...Xavier Bravery Smith. I think it has a nice ring to it.

First post after my recommittal to blogging...

Upon deciding to recommit myself to blogging, I come to find out that I am, in fact, an IDIOT. This may not be a surprise to most of you. Anyway, I was looking at the address of said blog and I realized that I misspelled feisty. Yeah, I have a misspelled web address. So instead of somepeoplethinkimfeisty, its somepeoplethinkimfiesty. Awesome. I'm a tard.

realizations

So, last night I decided to check my old, old, old myspace account that I haven't logged onto in years, and I discovered that I used to be a pretty good blogger! I think it was more about just writing about what was going on in my life and not some grandiose statement of my life. With that said, I'm actually going to try this blogging thing. It will just be random stuff from my life, probably mostly stuff about the upcoming nuptials. Maybe some pics if you're lucky.
