Barns and Gardens and...that's it?

It seems that on every wedding website I go to, every wedding featured is a rustic barn wedding or a wedding in the middle of a forrest. Really? No one has regular weddings anymore? Now don't get me wrong, I love the look of the rustic barn/garden wonderland weddings, but lets get some variety going here! I'm getting married on a bluff overlooking the ocean...where's my inspiration? Are island weddings passe? Whatever. Come on wedding bloggers, lets mix it up! I need some tropical inspiration!

Crate and Barrel Goodness

Today we went to register at Crate and Barrel and it was amazing! Stinks totally kept his cool and even had fun picking stuff out...this never happens. For those of you that know my Stinks, you know that shopping for anything brings on crazy panic attacks and mini tantrums. He started having a mini tantrum on the way there, but once we got the scanner he was all smiles! He even picked stuff out that I wasn't thinking about! We went a little crazy, but C&B has a cool deal that whatever isn't bought off of the registry we can buy at a discount after the wedding. So we threw some furniture on there that we aren't really expecting anyone to buy, but we can buy it later with the discount! Genius if you ask me. Today we did the basics, flatware, glassware, and kitchen stuffs and sometime soon I'll go back with my mom for the decorating stuff. I have no clue about how to decorate anything other than me :)

Registering was totally surreal, its weird planning for the future when we don't really know where we are going to live. I just hope that we're out of this place! We barely have room for the stuff we already have!

Weddingbee...for me?

Today Weddingbee, this totally cute wedding blog and boards, released their newest generation of characters for prospective bees and I am IN LOVE! The theme for this generation is Jungle animals and one of the characters is...wait for it...a SLOTH!!! If you know me at all, you know that I am every bit a sloth! Its not the best quality to have, but I've come to accept it. Another character that would fit me perfectly is the zebra, you know, because of the whole black and white thing...get it? So anyway, I'm thinking about applying to be a wedding blogger on their site. The only problem is I need to start blogging about my wedding! One of their requirements is that prospective bees are blogging about their wedding process and I have not been at all! Its hard because pretty much everything at my wedding is out of my hands! The only things that we got to pick were the photographer, my dress and we swapped out goat for steak on our dinner menu. (You're welcome!) I also plan on making my own centerpieces, but that is hardly anything worth blogging about. Ugh. I guess I can post blog about some of our wedding process and try to submit those. What do my 2 readers think?

Yay/ Epic Shower FAIL

So I logged on today to write about my shower injury FAIL, but then I noticed that I have a new follower! Yay!!! So, hi Melissa! I follow you too! On to my epic shower fail...

Yesterday morning I did a somersault in the shower. Yep, a somersault. I landed on my shoulder and my knee. I was pretty shocked about the whole thing, so I cried for a second until I realized that I was okay. So I finished my shower, but quickly realized that my shoulder is effed up. I could lift it, but i couldn't really move it in any other direction. So for the past couple of days, I haven't really been able to use my right arm. I can type and everything, but it hurts to do basic things like brush my teeth, put on deodorant...etc. Today is the first day that its kind of felt better, I have a greater range of motion but its still really sore to the touch. Its super uncomfortable to sleep or put an pressure on it, but at least I can wipe with my right hand! Was that to much info? Sorry :)

Nephew update: The results of the tumor came back and its BENIGN!!!! Yay! Prayers really do work :)

maybe this could work...

Today I was reading the wonderful Heather B. Armstrong's blog, Dooce, and entertained the thought of becoming a professional blogger. Although this would mean that I would actually have to put much more effort into writing, write about stuff that people other than myself and my one reader (thanks Char!) care about, and well I can't think of a third thing. This also means that I will have to recruit more than one follower...does this mean that I will have to post my blog on Facebook? Because, honestly, I don't think I could do that...I mean, I'm not writing about anything important. Maybe if I was reviewing something or something...bah. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

ETA: I am totally going to buy this book: No One cares What you Had For Lunch: 100 Ideas For your Blog, by Margaret Mason...maybe it will help.
